Calendar, Reminders, Contacts and Notes

Each of these asks for its permission the first time you use it, and only then.

Agenda

cal lists events for the next seven days across all calendars. An event with a meeting link shows a Join accessory; Return opens the link. Events without a link open in Calendar.

Reminders

rem lists open reminders. Return completes one. Type something that is not a reminder yet and Return adds it, with plain-language dates: buy milk tomorrow 9am, call the dentist friday.

Contacts

ct and a name. Each person expands under ⌘K into the things you can do, one row per number or address: Message, Call, FaceTime, Email, copy the number, Open in Contacts. Return on the person row copies their email.

To skip the menu, say what you want: message anna opens her conversation in Messages on Return, showing the existing thread for that number or iMessage address or starting one. msg, text, call, email and facetime work the same way, and a person without a number shows “No number” rather than a dead action. cleat://message?q=anna does it from Shortcuts.

Notes

notes (or nt) searches Apple Notes by title and opens the note. Apple has no Notes API, so Cleat asks the Notes app through AppleScript, which triggers one Automation permission prompt. With Full Disk Access granted, Cleat reads the Notes store directly and can show body snippets too; without it, titles only.

Reading a note without leaving

In the notes list, the pane on the right shows the selected note’s folder, when it changed, and its text, fetched from Notes as you arrow through and kept for the session so going back is instant. The first time, macOS may ask whether Cleat can control Notes; that is the only way an app is allowed to read a note’s body.

Events on one line

event: lunch with anna friday 1pm saves a one-hour event on Friday at 13:00 in your default calendar; ev: and meeting: do the same. ⌘⏎ opens the form instead. A line without a date or time is refused rather than guessed.
