Window management
Snap the front window on macOS to halves, thirds and quarters with Cleat, maximize, centre, move it to the next display, or save whole window layouts by name.
Cleat moves windows through the Accessibility API, which is why it asks for that permission the first time you use it.

Every position is also a row in the palette: type left half or maximize. All the keys can be changed in Settings › Hotkeys.
Layouts
Type layout. Save Current Layout records the position and size of every window on every display under a name you choose. Selecting a saved layout later puts each window back, as long as its app is running. Layouts are the way to get back to “meeting mode” or “two editors side by side” without dragging.
Gaps and cycling
Settings › Extras has a gap slider, which leaves space between snapped windows and the screen edge, and a cycling switch. With cycling on, pressing the same snap again walks the window through widths: a half, then two thirds, then a third. See Window gaps, Hyper key and typing sounds.
Shortcuts and Siri
Snap Window is one of Cleat’s App Intents, so a Shortcut can snap the front window as one of its steps, and Spotlight on macOS 26 lists it as an action.
Stage Manager
When Stage Manager is on, the strip of recent apps on the left is not part of the screen’s usable area as macOS reports it, so a left half would sit under it. Cleat leaves room for the strip whenever Stage Manager is enabled. The width is adjustable in Settings › Extras (96 points by default) and the whole thing can be turned off.
Switching windows
w and a word lists every open window by title or app, the app you came from first and minimised ones last. Return switches to it, ⌘⏎ minimises it, and ⌘K has Close Window, Hide and Quit. cleat://windows?q=chrome does the same from a Shortcut.
Layouts and displays
A layout remembers which screens were connected when you saved it. The list says whether a layout matches the current arrangement, and a toggle at the bottom restores the newest matching layout a moment after a monitor is plugged in or removed.
Next window of the front app
Settings › Hotkeys has a recorder for a key that cycles the windows of the app in front, unminimising as it goes.
