Integrations and personalization
Set up places search, 1Password, new notes, reminders and events, cloud API models, themes, web search and usage statistics in Cleat, and what each needs.
Places
Type map coffee in Skopje, maps London or loc followed by an address. Select a result to see its map, address, website when available, and directions. Searches go to Apple Maps when you submit them. Cleat does not request GPS access; include a city to narrow results.
1Password
Type 1p or 1p github, press Return, then choose Connect / Refresh. Install the official 1Password CLI at /opt/homebrew/bin/op or /usr/local/bin/op and enable Settings › Developer › Integrate with 1Password CLI in 1Password first.
Authenticate in 1Password. Cleat searches item titles and vault names, then opens the selected item in 1Password. It does not request passwords, one-time codes or autofill secrets. The list clears when you close the window, open an item, choose Clear, enable Privacy Mode, or reach the five-minute session cleanup.
Notes, Reminders and Calendar
newnote Meeting notesopens a form for a note in the default Apple Notes account and folder.newreminder Buy milklets you choose a writable list and optional due date with notification.newevent Team meetinglets you choose a writable calendar, start time and duration.
Review the details and save to create the item. Notes uses macOS Automation permission; Calendar and Reminders request access when needed. Existing search commands such as notes, rem and cal still work.
API models
In Settings › General › Assistant, choose Cloud / API model. Select OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI or a custom provider, enter an exact model ID available to your API account, and save your API key. Custom providers need the full HTTPS Chat Completions URL and streaming support.
Type ask and your question to start a chat. Cloud providers receive prompts, text selected for clipboard actions and up to ten prior conversation turns. Start a fresh conversation to clear context. Your provider bills API usage; a consumer chat subscription may not include API access.
Keys stay in macOS Keychain and are excluded from backups. Apple Intelligence, the built-in model and local model servers remain available in the same assistant settings. See Assistant and Apple Intelligence.
Themes
Settings › General › Theme offers neutral, ocean, forest and rose palettes, accent colors, and Liquid Glass, frosted or solid surfaces. Choose System, Light or Dark appearance and turn transition animation on or off.
Liquid Glass needs macOS 26 and falls back to frosted material on macOS 15. Reduce Transparency and Reduce Motion preferences take precedence.
Web search
Choose Google, DuckDuckGo, Bing, Brave, Ecosia, Kagi or a custom search engine in Settings › Search › Web search. A custom search URL must use HTTPS and contain {query}.
When no other result matches, Cleat offers a web search in your default browser. This setting changes Cleat’s searches, not your browser’s search preferences.
Usage statistics
Type stats and open Usage Statistics for Settings › Usage: recorded actions, palette opens, daily charts over 7, 30 or 90 days, your most-used rows and the queries the ranking has learned. Counts stay in Cleat’s local database. The statistics do not store search text or clipboard contents.
Settings › Search › Usage ranking controls recording. Forgetting usage history clears daily data too. Daily history begins with the version that adds statistics; older ranking totals remain available. Privacy Mode hides item names.
Currency and command help
Try cur 200 mkd to euro, cur 100 usd eur or cur 50 eur in gbp. Currency conversion uses daily reference rates from Frankfurter and requires internet. Press Return to copy the result.
Type ?, help or help currency for examples and requirements. Choose an example to put it in the search field. In Settings › Commands, check dependencies, add local configuration and try commands. Updating bundled commands preserves your edited scripts.
Translation, Activity Monitor and backups
The translation tool shows source and translated text side by side, with language selection and a way to paste the result back. Translation needs macOS 26 and may require language downloads.
Type top to inspect CPU and memory use in Activity Monitor, with helper processes grouped under their app.
Use Settings › Data to export and restore a local backup. Restore replaces local data on next launch and keeps a recovery copy. See Privacy and data for what a backup includes.
